adidas and its sponsored universities have come together countless times to create friends and family, PE and limited release pairs of shoes. Most notably, the UltraBOOST and its various installments in the series have been a go-to silhouette as the shoe smartly balances comfort and style. Now, 11 universities are receiving the collaborative UltraBOOST treatment, this time with the classic UltraBOOST 1.0 as the specific model of choice.
The 11 university-themed colorways include “Miami,” “Indiana,” “Mississippi State,” “Georgia Tech,” “Arizona State,” “Texas A&M,” “NC State,” “Louisville,” “Washington,” “Kansas” and “Nebrasksa.” Key detailing includes several thematic webbing strips which carry references to the Three Stripes and the university. In addition to the iconic Primeknit upper of the UltraBOOST 1.0, a suede mudguard carries tonal numbers on the lateral which state the year each university was established.
The campaign features 15 female student athletes that adidas recently signed to NIL (name, image and likeness) deals as part of the brand’s investment in athletes and programs that will increase representation and visibility. It is also a commitment to creating a more progressive future of equity in sport!
